15 days of specific restrictions:
The new rules in force in Paris and the inner suburbs (Hauts-de-Seine, Seine-Saint-Denis, and Val-de-Marne),
departments placed on maximum alert since Sunday due to Covid-19, will be in force for at least the next two weeks from October 6th, on.
Restrictions on gatherings of people still in force
Events with more than 1,000 people are still prohibited.
The same goes for the gathering of more than ten people on public roads.
Please note, this rule does not apply in shops, businesses, and administrations.
Other exceptions where gatherings are possible are demonstrations, funeral ceremonies in cemeteries, markets, professional activities like filming, guided tours, construction sites on public roads, as well as food distributions, aid to more vulnerable. Covid-19 screening places or queues on public roads, as long as the barrier measures are respected.
Student evenings and fairs prohibited
The other types of events that are now prohibited are student parties and all other gatherings planned in establishments open to the public, such as birthdays or wedding ceremonies. Also affected by a temporary closure are fairs, conferences, and exhibitions, as well as events planned under large tents or marquees, such as circus performances.
Gyms and closed swimming pools
Sports clubs and fitness clubs are also closed, as well as the swimming pools. Minors benefit from an exemption, whether in a school, association, or private setting. Regarding stadiums and physical training grounds, all outdoor equipment may remain open on the condition of gathering less than 1000 people or 50% of their maximum capacity if it is less than this figure of 1000 people.
Restaurants open, bars closed
All bars must be closed. Restaurants, defined as establishments whose main activity is the sale of meals, may remain open at operating hours subject to strict compliance with new health protocols. The details of these protocols will be available during the day.
The take-away sale of alcohol and the consumption of alcohol on public roads are also prohibited from 10 p.m., as is the broadcasting of amplified music, to avoid any festive practice in this open space. Included are the closure of game clubs, dance halls, and games rooms, conducive to mixing the party-goers, with alcohol consumption.
A gauge in shopping centers
Large shopping centers will have to limit customer crossings. The decree provides that these establishments must accommodate a maximum of one customer per 4 m2.
Cultural venues such as theaters and cinemas remain open for the moment. Teleworking is strongly encouraged for companies and administrations.
No more than 50% of students at university
Finally, an announcement for students, the halls and auditorium of universities can, from Tuesday, be filled to only 50% of their capacity at most in enhanced and maximum alert zones. As of Tuesday, October 6th, 2020, in all places, such as classrooms, auditorium, and dining hall, capacity will be reduced to 50%.
